Head of Workforce - Moving on   15/04/2022

June 2022 will see Netball NI Head of Workforce, Tom Causer leave his post and move onto pastures new taking up the role of Coach Education Manager with Cycling Ireland.

Having joined our business in July 2017, Tom offered a fresh take on how we delivered our education programmes focusing on the needs of our sport, the journey of our people and the impact their progression would have on our game, our participation players and our pathway/national athletes.

Netball across NI needs a strong, skilled workforce of coaches, officials and volunteers to exist. Tom’s work alongside our Board and stakeholders in both developing and implementing our Strongest Together strategy has been critical in the growth, sustainability and success of our sport.

A few words from Tom Causer,

‘Leaving my role in Netball NI has not been an easy decision, I will genuinely miss the staff team, the working environment and I’m immensely proud of what we have achieved together with the direction of the Board and support of the netball family over the last 5 years. I’ve been given an opportunity to pursue my passion in a new sport and I’m grateful for the time I’ve spent working in Netball and wish them every success in the future.’

Karen Rollo, Executive Manager,

‘Working alongside Tom the last few years has been great for us as a staff team and me personally. Tom added a different dimension to our workforce and his impact on our business cannot be underestimated. His manner and approach allow critical thinking and observation space to ensure decisions and actions result in maximised outcomes and provide longevity with their implementation.

Elevated to the Senior Leadership Team following our organisation restructure, Tom has enhanced his management skills working in areas he both excels in and those that used to be outside his comfort zone, he has provided me with immeasurable support, advice and guidance while also challenging to ensure we as an organisation and staff hold ourselves to account. Tom has cemented his place in our #NetballFamily and while I am sorry to see him leave our business, I am excited for him as he takes on a new challenge and follows his coach education passion. His commitment to learning and sharing his knowledge with others is remarkable and he leaves Netball NI in a strong position to progress the work he has started.’

Helen Stirling, Chair

"Tom has been a great asset to the team and has really become part of the #Netballfamily. We are sorry to see him go but wish him all the best in his new role"

The recruitment process for the position of Head of Workforce will begin over the coming days.
