Junior A Hurling Championship
01/06/2018
Well done to our Junior A Hurlers who defeated Ballincollig on a scoreline of 0-16 to 0-14 on a balmy evening in Annahala. Uibh Laoire started strongly and raced into a 4-point lead but Ballincollig slowly crept back into contention and by half-time, Uibh Laoire led 0-07 to 0-06. Uibh Laoire held strong in the second-half and some strong defending ensured Ballincollig couldn't break through to find a goal. This, combined with an excellent work-rate all over the pitch, led to a 2 point winning margin for the boys in red. Special mention to James Martin O'Leary who gave an exhibition in free-taking throughout the game, including 2-long range high-pressure strikes from close to the sideline towards the end of the game.
Well done to players and management - a great start to the hurling championship!
