Club Lotto
Back ground to our weekly club lotto:
St Monica's GAA lotto draw was first established in our club over twenty years ago and up until the opening of our club bar in August of 1993 was the main source of revenue for the club.
In the early years the lotto was ran and organised by a loyal band of volunteers lead by the late Marie Peate and Terry Monahan who were ably assisted by a group of voluntary sales people who sold tickets Monday to Thursday in the old supermarket mall. The lotto draw itself alternated between the two local public houses in Edenmore (Eugenes and the Concorde) on a Thursday night.
The revenue raised by the sales of lotto tickets helped secure the bank loan which enabled the building of our club house so thanks to the hard work of our lotto committee they ensured that the future generations of St Monica's would have a place to call home.
Our club lotto continues to take place and is now organised by Carol Monahan with money raised from lotto sales still playing a pivotal role in assisting with the financial costs of running our GAA club.
