New players are always welcome at Sean McDermotts GAA (Birmingham). Players moving to the Birmingham area from Ireland to either work or study at one of the universities will always be made welcome. Sean McDermotts (Birmingham) are a sociable and friendly bunch that includes players from the Four Provinces of Ireland. 

  • Work – We will use our contacts to help find work for players where we can.
  • Accommodation – We are happy to help you find suitable accommodation.
  • Transport to and from Training/Matches can be arranged

Are you attending University in the Birmingham area? 

  • Sean McDermotts (Birmingham) have or have had players who attend University of Birmingham, Aston University, Warwick University, City of Birmingham University, Newman University, and Worcester University. If you are still playing for your Club back home you are still welcome to join Sean Competitions. 

Moving to the Birmingham / Midlands to work 

  • Sean McDermotts team have always included a core of Irish lads who have moved to the Midlands to work, many have since settled here. If you are intending on moving to the Birminghamarea to work and you would like to play some Gaelic Football then you will be made very welcome by Sean McDermotts club. If you are still playing for your Club back home you are still welcome to join Sean McDermotts to train, and you will still be eligible to take part in the League Competitions. 


  • Macs field a Senior and Junior team who both compete in their respected Championship and League competitions. Players of all ability will be made welcome. The winners of the Warwickshire Senior Championship competition progress to the All Britain Intermediate Championship where they play the London Intermediate Champions and the Senior County Champions from all the other British Counties in a knock competition. The winners of the All Britain Club Championship take part in the All Ireland Junior Club Championships.
