New Intermediate Football Manager

We are pleased to announce that the new manager of the Intermediate football team is David Clare. David has considerable experience at this level having coached previously at Dunboyne, St. Sylvester’s, Longwood and Summerhill. We welcome David to the club and look forward to the new League season. Thanks to Games Director Patsy Comerford and his committee for their work in this and other appointment processes.

National Club Draw

Teams can collect their tickets for the National Draw from Secretary Vinny Potter on Tuesday night from 9.30pm to 10.30pm and he’ll have a supply of posters and flyers for people to use. If any team manager would like tickets but cannot attend on Tuesday they can contact Vinny on 086 8276252.

TheNational Club Draw takes place again this year as always and it’s a fantastic way for us to literally make money with no outlay. Unlike other draws and raffles, all we have to do is sell tickets and we get ALL the money! The GAA put up all the prizes, and they’re fantastic’, so what we take in is dependent only on the effort we put into selling tickets and here’s the good bit; every penny from every ticket each team sells goes back to the team. If you need footballs, sliothars, jerseys or a week of team bonding in La Manga for your Go Games teams this is a brilliant opportunity. Organise now, get all the parents involved, pick a target and go for it. If you’re not in, you can’t win!

Club Specific Draw: After its success last year, the GAA is continuing a specific draw for all clubs who record, account for and sell a minimum of 200 tickets. The prizes will be provided by the Central Council. For clubs to qualify for the draw they must have:

1. Sold a minimum of 200 tickets.

2. Recorded all sold tickets on the online ticket recording system.

3. Accounted for all funds raised in the club accounts - i.e. the amount shown in club income should correspond with the total ticket sales amount.

4. Adhered to all terms and conditions of the Draw.

This Friday two of our members are holding a fundraising night in Áras Bharróg. Brothers Kevin and Ciarán Kenny (siblings, not monks!) will travel to Lesotho on 7th February with Action Ireland where they will work to construct a badly needed new school in a deprived area. They'll need to raise the money for the trip and to help with this they are hosting a music night with Laurie Hartz and a DJ. They will also be holding an auction on the night with some great items on offer; a fully signed and framed Dublin jersey, an overnight stay in the 5-star Castleknock Hotel with 3 course meal and breakfast and 2 tickets for the 2019 football All Ireland final! Lots, lots more but you’ll have to come to find out about the rest. Sam Maguire is joining us for the evening if anybody wants to get photos. ADMISSION is €10 and tickets can be bought from Ciarán at 0876725457, Kevin at 0872518687 or behind the bar. Also, if anybody would like to make a donation of any kind they can contact the lads on the above numbers.…/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x1e8c4827…
