Juvenilie Club Notes.   08/03/2016

Here is a message from our Cumann na nÓg Chairperson, Dave O Reilly.

Hi All

On March 17th at 2.30pm the Maigh Cuilin parade will take place and Cumann Peil Maigh Cuilinn will be proudly marching. The meeting point is Sweeneys at 2pm.

Everybody who has a connection or involvement with the club is welcome to join our group. We are hoping to have kids from every age group right up to our adult members taking part. If as many as possible wear their club colours on the day it would make a great spectacle. The cups and sheilds we have won in the last twelve months will also be carried by members of the various victorious teams. Brothers, sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents are all welcome to participate with us. We are an inclusive and progressive club and this should be reflected in the make up of our group.
Some of our younger stars will be marching with other groups(hurlers, scouts, rugby schools etc.) and thats to be welcomed as we are a club that plays a significant part in the local community. The important thing is that every child in the village that wants to march is accommodated, its their day and no child should be standing on the path watching their friends march and wishing they were involved. We invite any past present or future player to join us and enjoy the day.

As you are all aware our club lotto now stands at a whooping €20,000...thats as high as the jackpot can go!! We would encourage everyone to buy a ticket and be in with a chance of winning this fabulous amount of money. Finance as always dictates what we can and can't do as a club so every euro we raise is much appreciated.
Tickets are on sale from various outlets throughout the village or can be played online http://www.maighcuilinn.com/contentPage/221097/l_o_t_t_

Some of our members are also taking part in the "Chance a Dance" fundraiser for the hurling club. This promises to be a great nights entertainment in The Clayton Hotel on April 9th. Tickets are €20 and can be purchased from any of the dancers or directly from the legendary Mairtin Clancy or Colm Gavin. The time and training the dancers have put in has to be commended, and while the routines themselves are being kept under wraps the buzz coming from the camp is electric. With the individuals involved it could get competitive if the voting is close.
Our underage footballers will be represent by Fergus "Golden Feet" Gillespie and Alan "Highkicking" Higgins. Best of luck to everybody on the night.

Registration is now available online at http://www.maighcuilinn.com/contentPage/350325
Its of paramount importance that all players are registered, as playing unregistered players could cost the club both on and off the pitch. The county board could impose financial penalties along with the exclusion of teams in competitions.

This year we welcome two new pitch signage sponsors, Michelle Burke Auctioneers and Top Oil Maigh Cuilinn. Michelle is in business in the village for the last year and anybody who has dealings with her will testify that she and her team are thorough professionals.
The new Top Oil station is located in the old Lydons premises and KD has just opened within the last few weeks. As well as fuel there is a deli, lotto, papers and they also supply home heating oil. The 10 plus new jobs provided are a welcome addition to the local economy.

As always we are recruiting coaches so if anybody wants to get involved they will be made most welcome. The under 13/14 group could do with some extra coaching staff, if any parent or older sibling is available let any of the coaches know,

Your club...your community...play your part,
