Due to lack of other hurling clubs in the north-west area, Fullen Gaels compete in the Warwickshire county championship.

The club also competed in the London Hurling League division 2 in 2006, winning the Ronan cup this was the clubs first piece of silverware. We have players from a number of traditional hurling counties represented like Kilkenny, Cork, Tipp, Galway, Limerick, Antrim etc and non traditional Kerry, Armagh, Cavan etc. and there are also a number of very good second-generation Irish players at the club. We have players coming to training from all parts of the North west like Liverpool, Chester, Bolton and even Leeds

This year we had a number of players involved in the Warwickshire hurling squad for both the Nicky Rackard cup and the Leinster shield.

History

Fullen Gaels are the only hurling club in Lancashire. We were formed in February 2005 in Manchester by a group passionate about hurling and a desire to re-introduce the sport to Lancashire after an absence of two decades.

The Clubs name is derived from Rev. Fr. Emmet Fullen of Derry, who did tremendous work for the development of Gaelic Games in Lancashire, he was Lancashire County Board Chairman and Lancashire Player.
