Successful Open Day In Fitzgerald Stadium 2015-09-06 22:10:00

A Very Successful Kerry Senior Football Team Open Day

Kerry Senior Football Team Open Day in Fitzgerald Stadium on Sunday last was, despite a number of teething problems, an outstanding success. Hard to believe that this was the ninth such event since the first in 2004 and the huge crowd that turned up – in excess of 3,000 – and probably the second biggest - was testament to the esteem in which this group of players are held by Kerry GAA followers in the county. The players spent over an hour and a half in the hot sun signing autographs and taking photos and selfies while the crowd, to their credit, were very patient and co-operative throughout. My thanks to The Kerryman and Kerry’s Eye newspapers for providing posters and also to Croke Park who provided free handouts.
It is a matter of regret that, following a change in the time for team training, a timing error on my part when publicising the event, led to delays gaining entrance to the grounds while the team finished what was a very important session. Sincere apologies to those inconvenienced
