All Ireland ScÓr na nÓg Finals this weekend 2017-02-11 09:50:00

All Ireland Scór na nÓg Finals this weekend

The final step in the Scór Na nÓg journey that started off with the District Board Finals back in November 2016 will conclude at the Waterfront Theatre, Belfast on this Saturday February 11th where once again Kerry will be represented this time round in two of the disciplines by Spa from the East Kerry District Board which will see them participate in both Set Dancing and Quiz at the All Ireland Finals.

Certainly the Spa Club have been involved at National level on numerous occasions and have been our standard bearers having been successful in several of the categories down through the years but it is at either Figure or Set Dancing that they excel most. In fact, even though the standard is always at a very high level in the Dancing, which always keeps the adjudicators on their toes before they give their final verdict, even from District Board level up, the Spa Club would always be well in contention to enter the winners enclosure no matter what stage of the competition is at.

Not to be outdone on this occasion by the Dancers; Spa will also be involved in the All Ireland Final of Question Time and certainly they are no strangers to this stage as they are going for a hat-trick of national titles.

Competitions will get underway at 11am with the Quiz and here the remaining 31 Counties will be hoping to stop the current champions from making it a 3-in-a-row of titles. This will be followed at 3pm with the remainder of the day’s proceedings which will finish at 7pm when the final results from all categories will be known.

Without doubt the competitors representing the Kingdom will have plenty vocal support and hopefully at the end of the day we will have further glory for both Club and County.

So the following are the representatives;

Set Dancing: Kieran O'Doherty, Liam Spillane, Gary O'Sullivan, Cian O'Sullivan, Erin Holland, Meghann Cronin, Aine Brosnan, Orlaith Spillane.

Quiz: Louise Fleming, Daniel O'Sullivan, James Lynch, Kieran O'Doherty
