Round 9 of Senior Football League this weekend 2016-07-20 18:14:00

Credit Union Senior Football League

A full round of fixtures took place in Round 8 of the Credit Union Senior Football League last weekend although unfortunately the Listry v Emmets game was brought to a premature end due to a serious injury received by Listry player Gary O’Sullivan. We all wish Gary a full and speedy recovery.

Round 9 of the League takes place this coming weekend and there is no doubt but the positions at the top and bottom of the League tables are hotting up given that Round 10 of the League on August 14 will be the penultimate Round of the competition.

Indeed the next few weeks are going to be pretty busy ones for some clubs who are involved in back games. For some reason or other, some clubs have more than one back game to play and of course, ideally, all back games should be played before Round 10 but that will not be possible in all instances.
Among the back games fixed are the following;
In Division 1 Austin Stacks and Kerins O’Rahillys on August 6th;
In Division 2, An Ghaeltacht V Listry on 5th August, An Ghaeltacht V Emmets on August 20th, Emmets V Finuge on August 24th and Spa V Finuge a revised Round 9 game that has yet to be rescheduled;
In Division 3 Annascaul and Dromid Pearses on July 29th, Gneeveguilla V St Pats o July 30th, and Gneeveguiilla V Dromid Pearses on August 20th;
In Division 4, Lispole V Valentia on July 30th, Valentia V Rebnard on August 6th, Scartaglen V Valentia on August 20th;
and finally in Division 5, Rathmore V Ballylongford on July 31st, Sneem/Derrynane V Knocknagoshel on August 20th and finally Sneem/Derrynane and Ballyduff which has yet to be scheduled.
