AGM a Success

Our AGM was held on Friday 17th December in the community centre. Outgoing secretary Michael Barrett gave a detailed report on the activities of the club for the year. Treasurer Mick Spillane outlined all the fundraising and expenditures that was carried out in the club over 2021. The balance sheet was looking healthy but there was a consensus that with the ambitions that this club has to develop our pitches over the coming years is that we will all need to row in together to make everything work. Election of officers are as follows; John McCarthy is to remain chairman, Mick Spillane is to stay as Treasurer, Con Lawlor is the new Secretary and Eoin Barry was given the job as PRO. A special word of thanks must be given to Michael Barrett and Kieran McGann who have stepped down as secretary and PRO respectively. Both men put in fierce amount of work behind the scenes for years so go raibh míle math agaibh from everyone in the club.

Rebel Bounty Draw

Tickets for the Rebel Bounty draw are now on sale. The Rebel Bounty Draw is becoming a key fundraiser for clubs like ourselves. The funding from this draw contributed €6,500 to the new ball stop nets behind the goals, €2000 towards the new gym, and €6000 towards the €100,000 development loan we have. There is over €500,000 in prize money, 12 draws in the year and with over 30 prizes within each draw. If you wish to buy a ticket you can contact any member of the GAA committee or visit and make sure to put Castlelyons as your club!
