Youths & Mini Rugby in Naas has seen considerable growth in recent years, in line with or possibly even ahead of the growth in the game at a national level. This growth has led to considerable success on and off the field, and we now have a very strong Youth & Mini Section which is well respected by the Irish Rugby Community.

It is with great honour and pride that I accepted the role of Director of Youth & Minis Rugby in Naas Rugby Club. Along with the Youths Coordinator, and Karl Alexander, Minis Coordinator, our intention is to build on the fine work by our predecessors David McKeown, Robert Brickell, Linda Owens mark McNeils and all the volunteers going back as far as the Joe Moran era, whom have helped to bring our Youth and Minis Section to where it is today with over 600 children and young adults playing rugby football in Forenaughts.

The IRFU and Leinster Rugby’s Long Term Player Development is the corner stone of our Rugby Philosophy for the Minis and Youths in Naas RFC where the minis learn and develop the basic skills of the game in a fun non graded environment and then progress into a more structured youth format to further develop their skills on the path to becoming a rugby player. 

I would like to thank in advance all the coaches in the Youth & Mini Section for their time and dedication for the coming season without these and all the other volunteers there would be no club, but we always need more so if you are willing to help this fabulous community club please contact a member of the committee. I would also like to thank my family for their understanding and patience as I get to grips with this role in the club.

Finally I would like to wish all the players the very best for the coming season – play hard, enjoy and have FUN

Training for Minis and Youths has started.
Times are as follows:

Minis up to Under-12

Saturday Morning: 10.00 to 11.30                   Coordinator: Conor Brophy

Under-13

Monday/Wednesday: 6.30 to 7.30                    Lead Coach: Alistair Finlayson

Under-14

Tuesday/Friday: 6.15 to 7.30                            Lead Coach: Karl Alexander

Under-15

Monday/Wednesday: 7.00 to 8.30                    Lead Coach: Shay Dunne

Under-17

Tuesday/Thursday: 7.30 to 8.45                       Lead Coach: Philip Lawlor (this includes Under-16)

Under 18

Tuesday/Thursday: 7.30 to 8.45                       Lead Coach: Johnny Sheehan
