Womens Rugby Message

The 2018/2019 season will see another major milestone for our Women and Girls section, as we launch our new women’s team into Leinster Division 4. The team is made up of our women who have played for the Naas girls’ teams over the years, plus several very promising new players in their first year of rugby. We are delighted to have two outstanding new coaches in Adam Coyle and Jenny Murphy, who have been working with the women since early August to prepare for our first friendly on Saturday 8th August at 3.00 v Portlaoise. The women’s games will be on Sunday afternoons, and we also intend to make a full contribution to the social life of the club.

This launch of a women’s team is a natural development of the success of our girls’ teams from Under-10 to Under-18. We measure our success by our numbers of players and numbers of games played, and we are committed to getting as many players playing the game as we can (admittedly not all at the same time). We are one of the few clubs in the country to offer rugby to women and girls of all ages, with teams at Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18, and we have strong coaching and management teams at all ages.

We wish all Naas players, coaches, managers and supporters all the very best for another great season.

Naas RFC – play rugby like a girl.

Joanne King - Chair of Female Rugby/David McKeown - Head Coach
