It is a fitting tribute on Coley's anniversary that we are able to
announce that we will be handing over the fantastic sum of £8000 to
young Tommy O'Donnell, from our Coley Folan Memorial Tournament and
Family Fun Day.
As you may know Tommy is part of our Macs family;
he is a 5 years old boy with a life limiting brain condition
(Lissencephaly) who recently lost his daddy to cancer, aged 39. Tommy
suffers daily seizures and requires 24 hour care. This is challenging
for any family but to tragically lose
their main bread winner at just 39 (Tommy's daddy) makes this situation
even more heart breaking and challenging. Tommy's uncle, Tom (Mayo Tom),
has played for Macs since moving to Birmingham and was a great friend
of Coley and his family.
Coleys tournament was a great success; a celebration in Coley's memory that combined GAA, family, friendship and good craic.
This would not have been possible without the hard work of Mick O'Brien
and Sean McDermotts committee who worked tirelessly to ensure the day
was a success.
Our thanks to everybody who came out to support the
day, also to the clubs from Warwickshire, London, Dublin and Mayo and to
Warwickshire County Board for their support.
Special thanks to our
sponsors MV Kelly, Billy Doyle, Adrian McLean, Noel McLean, Bernard
