About Us

Launched in 2011 Rebel Óg is the exciting new initiative by Cork G.A.A. to promote, develop and organise Gaelic Games in Cork for players up to the age of eighteen.  Formed as part of the Cork GAA Strategic vision and action plan 2010-2015, Rebel Óg has revolutionised the structure of underage Gaelic games in Cork.

Rebel Óg offers young players from the ages of eight to eighteen the opportunity to learn, develop and compete in our Gaelic games of hurling and football in an environment of encouragement and enrichment.  Rebel Óg's network of clubs and schools ensures that every young player has an opportunity to play our national games in their own locality.

Rebel Óg competitions are regionally organised with teams competing in Rebel Óg Central, East, North & West in Under 13,14,15,16 and minor age groups.  Teams are graded based on ability ensuring balanced and fair competition for all.

Rebel Óg operates schools of excellence and development squads which offer players an opportunity and incentive to represent our Rebel Óg inter-county teams in the hope of one day pulling on the famous red jersey of Cork.

Rebel Óg promotes an ethos of best practice in terms of child safety, player development and maximum participation.  Our Games Development staff work with coaches throughout the County to ensure the most innovative coaching techniques are adhered to.

Rebel Óg oversees the awarding of the Monthly "Rebel Og Sports Award" which is currently sponsored by Clayton Hotel Sliversprings.
