PITCH HISTORY

Pairc Maigh Cuilinn

Ag tús an chéid seo caite is iomaí baile a bhí ag an gClub, ina measc Páirc Uí Mhaoladha i gCnoc an tSeanbhaile, Páirc Sheáin Mhic Dhonnchadha i Leaguan, garraí Uí Dhonnchú i gcluain Aoibh agus garraí Uí Bheacháin. Sa bhliain 1967 áfach cuireadh tús leis an obair ar gharraí "Na Carraigeacha" an Baile Dóite mar a bhí aithne air ag an am agus sa bhliain 1972 cuireadh ball críche ar Pháirc Mhaigh Cuilinn agus imríodh an chéad chluiche ann i míIúil idir Maigh Cuilinn agus Cumann an Athar Thómais ó Bhostún Mheiriceá. Tá obair leanúnach ar siúl ó shin agus críochnaíodh an clubtheach agus seomraí feistis sa bhliain 1980. Tógadh an dara páirc imeartha sa bhliain 1990 agus tógadh seastán do 300 duine sa bhliain 1996. Bhí forbairt déanta ar an gcubtheach ag tús 2013.

Clubtheach Seachtain 5

In the earlier part of the century Moycullen G.A.A. had many homes including Melia's field, Knockshanbally, John McDonagh's field, Leagaun, Donoghue's field, Clooniffe, and Vaughan's field but in 1967 work started on "The Rocks field" Ballydotia as it was known then and in 1972 Pairc Maigh Cuillin was completed and the first match was played in July between Moycullen hurlers and Fr. Tom's, Boston. Work has been ongoing since, with the dressing rooms and clubhouse completed in 1980, the second pitch completed in 1990 and a 300 seat stand completed in May 1996. The clubhouse was redeveloped in early 2013.
