Oisin's 0-14 Glasgow Gaels 0-10

Oisin's captured the Junior title after a most entertaining contest with a gallant Glasgow Gaels who fought them all the way to the end. Their victory was built on a solid defensive unit led by the excellent Cara Garritty at full back allied to some superb score taking when the chances presentedd themselves. The Manchester ladies were straight out of the blocks and were two points up within four minutes courtesy of Clodagh Gormley and Jennifer Noone.Katherine McGee got the Scottish team moving after six minutes and they soon settled down to their task. McGee restore the two point margin after ten but immediately Glasgow replied with a shot from Laura Sherry which was dipping under the bar but Grainne O Malley did superbly to tip over. With the tenacious tackling oand covering of both sides scores were at a premium with just three points registered over the next fifteen minutes, two of which went to the winners.

As the half time break closed in Cara Garrity powered forward to make the gap three but Laura Sherry replied with a pointed free on the whistle. Clodagh Gormley started the second half as she had the first with a point inside a minute but the Glasgow girls hit a purple patch over the next ten minutes. McGee and Sherry hit two each to go in front before Oisin's regrouped and steadied the raft. Shannaugh Carberry fire over two excellent efforts to restore the advantage and Ellen Ryan nailed another on the quarter hour mark.Annie Ryan,Noone and Gormley put them clear but they had to withstand a fierce onslaught from Glasgow over the final eight minutes.
