Club news from the weekend!   11/05/2014

  • Well done to the Kinsale Intermediates who beat Ballydesmond in the first round of the Intermediate Championship. Kinsale were ahead at half time 1-5 to 0-5, but in the second half Bally tagged on two quick poits. Kinsale responded well but with a few minutes to go Ballydesmond scored a great goal and the teams were level. The game was set for extra time but with the last kick of the game Seán O Brien got the crucial goal and Kinsale emerged victorious 2-9 to 1-9. Good luck to Ballydesmond next weekend and Kinsale are hrough to the fourth round.
  • Kinsale was delighted to see our own Orla Finn along with the Cork Ladies win another National League title, the 8th in the last 10 years against Dublin. We wish them the best of luck in the Championship.
  • Thanks to everyone who helped and donated to our recent Clothes collection. The money raised will go towards the Underage of the club. This section of the club is growing from strength to strength with over 120 boys training every Sunday morning 11-12.15. They all recently received Certs for the great work they've been putting into hurling and football. The girls train on Mondays 4.30-5.30 and each week there are nearly 100 girls training. New members are very welcome and we would love any adults to come along and help too. Kinsale GAA is also holding its annual Coffee morning in the Temperance Hall on Fri. 16th May to help with the Underage.
  • Kinsale GAA will hold its annual Golf Classic on May 23rd in Farrangalway. We are delighted that Kevin O Leary Group and Eurospar Kinsale have come on board as joint main sponsors. Both businesses have already sponsored jerseys so we ask you to support our sponsors and the club is very grateful. Teams of 3 cost €180 which include dinner and tee boxes cost €50. For more information contact Laurence Murphy 0879056737.
