Hurling


The highlight of the Kerry hurling year goes ahead this weekend with the Final of the 2019 Garvey’s SuperValu Co. Senior Hurling Championship (Corn Neilus Ó Floinn) between Lixnaw and Causeway. It goes ahead at Austin Stack Park where there will be a 3.15p.m. throw in time.


General admission is €15 with a €5 concession for students and Senior Citizens. All under 16’s are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available to purchase in advance from SuperValu and Centra Stores around the county and at the Kerry G.A.A. Store in Killarney.


The match programme will be produced by the North Kerry Hurling Board and the 36 page publication will be on sale inside the ground for just €3. The jubilee teams being honoured at this year’s county hurling final are the Killarney and Austin Stacks team who contested the 1969 Co. Final.


Intermediate

The Final of the 2019 Co. Intermediate Hurling Championship between Kilgarvan and Kenmare is fixed for this Saturday, 24 August at 5.00p.m. Venue will be Lewis Road, Killarney. Extra time if necessary.


Minor

The curtain raiser at 1.15p.m. on Sunday will be the Keane’s SuperValu Co. Minor hurling championship final (Corn Seán Loibhéad) between Ballyduff and Crotta O’Neill’s.


Underage

Ballyheigue won the Lee Strand Co. Under 16 Hurling Championship title on Friday evening last when they had a 1 - 14 to 1 - 10 win over St. Brendan’s in the Final played at Ballyduff. The Ballyheigue panel was: Aidan Reidy, Dara Donnelly, Dara Kearney, Dara Ó Fuaráin, Jordan Goggin, Séamie Ó Fuaráin, David O’Sullivan, Thomas Gaynor, Charlie Fitzgerald, Féílim O’Sullivan, Eric Walsh, David O’Mahony (capt.), Muiris Harty, Daniel O’Loughlin, Denis Lynch, Evan Casey, Dylan Godley, Bobby Breen, Eoin Stack.

In the Plate semi-final Tralee Parnell’s had a 0 - 13 to 3 - 3 win over Abbeydorney. The will play Lixnaw in the Final on this Friday, 23 August. Venue is Kilmoyley where there will be a 6.45p.m. throw in.


North Kerry

All group and back games in the North Kerry Under 13 and Under 15 Championships must be completed by Monday, 26 August and finalists will be determined by the points tables as they stand on that date. There will be no games during the week from that date to 31 August September as the various Co. Hurling Development squads will be preparing for their various tournaments on that weekend.

The North Kerry Under 21 Hurling Championship quarter finals are due to be played on the weekend of 31 August. The draw is: Crotta v Abbeydorney; Lixnaw v Ballyduff; Kilmoyley v Causeway; Tralee Parnell’s v St. Brendan’s.
