All Ireland Final
Sunday next is another milestone in our short club history when our senior team take to the field to play in the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Club Football Final for the first time.  The opponents will be Donaghmoyne - the champions of Monaghan and Ulster. Apart from the Cork senior ladies inter-county football team, Donaghmoyneare probably the most consistent ladies football team in the country in the past 11 years. Sunday’s final will be their seventh appearance since 2005 – the year that we were founded.  They are backboned by the Courtneys, Linda Martin and Catriona McConnell to name just a few and will be favourites to win back-to-back All-Irelands.

The game is in Parnell Park and starts at 2:45. Everybody in the  club wishes the best of luck to team captain Sarah Brophy, the panel and management on Sunday.

Player Of The Year awards
It’s “awards season” time and some of our club players received “Player Of The Year” awards over the weekend.  Hannah O’Neill picked up the Dublin Minor Players Player Of The Year Award, Niamh Collins was the joint winner of the Dublin Senior Players Player Of The Year Award, Sinead Goldrick picked up the Dublin Senior Player Of The Year and Laura Nerney picked up the Laois Senior Player Of The Year. Let’s not forget also that Lisa Davies picked up the Dublin U16 Player Of The Year last weekend also. Well done everybody!

All-Ireland Semi-Final
Congratulations to our senior team who turned in an outstanding performance on Sunday to beat hot-favourites, and 5-time All-Ireland winners Carnacon of Mayo, in the All-Ireland Semi-Final and secure a first ever appearance for the club in an All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football final. Each player gave her all on Sunday and the 4-9 to 2-11 victory was a just reward for the effort. Team captain, Sarah Brophy, has asked me to thank the large number of supporters who were at the game and who made themselves heard during the game. This level of support no-doubt helped the team.

The club would like to thank Denise Connor, Bernie Hedderman, Linda Carroll, Lucilita Bell and all from the Gaelic 4 Mothers team who looked after the catering on Sunday. Thanks also to Ciara Fallon and Aoife Bell for all their hard work and help with the catering.

The club would like to sincerely thank Bray Emmett’s for making their incredible facilities available to us on Sunday.

The All-Ireland Final will be played on Sunday, December 4th in Parnell Park at 2:45 pm against current champions, Donaghmoyne, from Monaghan. Donaghmoyne made their first appearance in an All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football back in 2005 – the year that our club was founded! They lost on that occasion, but since then, have won 4 titles (2006, 2009, 2012 and 2015) and lost another in 2013.

Dublin U16 Player Of The Year
Congratulations to Lisa Davies who was named as the Dublin U16 Player Of The Year at the Dublin U14 and U16 medal presentation ceremony on Friday night. The winner of this award is selected by the Dublin U16 management team. Congrats also to Jodi Egan, Sarah O’Leary and Aisling O’Kelly who collected their medals on Friday night.

Kilbogget closure
The club has been informed by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council that the weekend of December 3rd and 4th will be the final weekend this year for matches to be played on Kilbogget. Kilbogget will re-open again on the weekend of January 14th and 15th.

All-Ireland Senior semi-final
Best of luck to our Senior team who play Carnacon from Mayo in the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Club semi-final on Sunday next, November 20th. The game will be played in Bray Emmett’s pitch and throw in is at 2 p.m.

Since 2000, Carnacon have won 14 Connaught titles and 5 All-Ireland titles. They went through a barren period in 2014 and 2015 losing the Connaught finals to Kilkerrin Clonberne on both occasions. However, they got back on track this year with a remarkable 32-point win in the Connaught final and will be hot favourites going into the game. However, our ladies love a challenge and they’ll be up for the tough encounter that’s ahead of them. Best of luck to team captain Sarah Brophy and the rest of the panel and management on Sunday.

Fifth All-Star for Sinead Goldrick
Congratulations to Sinead Goldrick who picked up an incredible fifth consecutive All-Star on Saturday night. Well done Sinead!

Minor Division 1 Shield Champions
Congratulations to our Minor A team who had a terrific win over our neighbours, Cuala, in the Minor Division 1 Shield final on Wednesday night. The final score was Foxrock Cabinteely 9-6 Cuala 4-9.

Well done to the 20 girls who turned in an extraordinary performance and well done to the management team of Gerry McGarry, Paul Ryan, Ronan Ryan, Sam O’Sullivan and Miriam O’Neill for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Wednesday’s victory was just reward for all their hard work.

Cumann na mBunscoil Final
On Wednesday last, 15 club players were part of the Hollypark panel who played Belgrove from Clontarf in a thrilling Corn Austin Finn final. The game finished all square at the end of normal time on a score line of Hollypark 4-3 Belgrove 3-6. Rather than play extra time, the organising committee, as well as both schools agreed that the cup should be shared for the year – a very good decision indeed. Sincere thanks to teachers Ms. Haugh, Ms. Shannon and Ms. McGovern for all their tireless work during the competition.

Table Quiz
Thanks to those who attended the Grange last Thursday night (Nov. 10th) and supported our Table Quiz. Though attendance was disappointing, with only 8 tables competing, those who were present had a very enjoyable and pleasant evening. 2 teams ended level after 8 rounds, a tie-breaker had to be used to separate them. These teams were captained by Peter Murray on one side with Brian Walsh/John Gallagher on the other side. A marvelous €450 was raised on the night, thanks again to all who participated, with sincere thanks to Denise and Bernie for their usual flawless organization.

“Game of Light” Blitz
Throw in 7pm on Friday 04th November 2016
Last Friday we had over 31 girls from the U11’s turn up to play against Kilmacud Crokes in a “Game of Light Blitz”, heldin Kilbogget Park. Our U11 girls made history in the club by being the first EVER team in Foxrock Cabinteely to play under lights in Kilbogget Park. Both teams put out two teams of 11 players each and one team of 10 players each.

The under-11s produced yet another outstanding performance, with all three teams excelling themselves in fierce tackling, teamwork and achieving some outstanding scores. OurFoxcab girls came away with again another 6/6 wins which is incredible for this young group of girls.

After the “Game of Light Blitz”, all girls fromFoxcab U11s, Crokes U11 and all parents, went back into Seapoint Rugby Club. All the girls enjoyed a nice cup of Hot Chocolate and a bag of goodies, while the parents enjoyed a cup of tea/coffee and some sandwiches. This was a fantastic opportunity for the not only the girls to mix and mingle put also the parents. A special thanks must go to Gwen Downing, Edwina Mullan, Carol Dillon and Jane O’Connell Bell for organising the goodies, teas/coffees etc. Also thanks to all the Parents who brought a plate of sandwiches along with them, it is very much appreciated.

The “Game of Light Blitz”, took huge organising in terms of contacting all players and opposition, contacting referees, getting a pitch with lights, getting to use Seapoint rugby club for after the match, and an endless amount of other small jobs. On behalf of the U11 management team, the U11 girls, and parents, we would like to thank Paul Tonge for the fantastic effort and fun that was had by all on Friday night. Paul continues to work effortlessly hard, making sure the U11s get a game every week, as this is what they look forward to the most… So thank you very much Paul Tonge… we continue to look forward to our next match!

Thanks also to Kilmacud Crokes for traveling across to our club, to the referees, U10 girls that came up and gave us a hand and to Pat Ryan for the photos of the match.

The girls continue to train hard every Tuesday evening and are always on the lookout and welcoming new players.

The girls look forward to Saturday’s match, where they will travel out to play against a very strong team, Royal Gaels in Dunshaughlin … match report to follow.

Minor Division 1 Shield Final

Best of luck to our Minor A team when they take on Cuala in the Division 1 Shield final on Wednesday evening @ 8 p.m. in Bray Emmett's pitch.  These teams met earlier in the championship and served up a thriller, with Cuala winning by a goal.  No doubt Wednesday's game will be equally as close, with hopefully, the result being reversed! Members are asked to come along on Wednesday night and give their support to the team.
