Shannon Gael's (Roscommon) Club notes   16/05/2017

Very well done to our U16 ladies on a brilliant display in the 2017 championship.  They were beaten in the dying minutes of the final by Kilmore/Elphin on Bank Holiday Monday in a hot and sunny Elphin. Under the brilliant guidance of Alan Burke and Charlie Devaney these girls showed true dedication and skill throughout.  Huge thanks to Alan, Charlie, all the parents and especially the girls.  Thanks also to Cryans Hotel for providing the team and management with food after the final.

On Tuesday last our U14 girls defeated Roscommon Gaels in Croghan in the first round of Division 3 league.  They play Michael Glaveys on Wednesday 17th in Ballinlough. Best of luck to management and team in this campaign.

The U12 girls played the second round of the championship away to Padraig Pearces losing out by only 2 points. Shannon Gaels adult ladies are through to the Division 3 League final.  They will meet St Barrys on Sunday next 21st May.  Time and venue not available at time of going to press.

Check fixtures and social media for updates. The very best of luck to management of Pat and Fergus and to all the girls.

Our annual poker classic will be held in Glancys waterfront bar on Wednesday 21st may at 9pm. Please support this fundraiser.  Refreshments and raffle on the night.

Congratulations to all our junior members who made their first holy communion over the weekend.
