Category One is for areas with a population of less than 200. The village in question has a stunning location with facilities and amenities of which other communities often dream. The judges enjoyed their visit; the people were very welcoming and they found this to be an active community working closely with the council and other agencies. However, it was in the telling of a very local story about the impact of the Titanic Disaster on a small village in the west of Ireland that the entry really shone.
