One of the big winners of the weekend in the NIVEA For Men Superleague were 11890 Killester who despite leading by 22 points in the first half were taken to overtime before beating Bord Gais Neptune 97-96 in front of a packed house at the IWA as Darren O'Neill told us.

"We were due a win in a game like that, we were up by at least 20 in the games against Star, DCU Saints, Moycullen and Neptune earlier in the season but failed to hold on. Last night Neptune really showed what they are made of in the third and fourth quarters and young Roy Downey really hurt us at times. We still have a huge amount to learn, we are a young side, but if we perform we are good enough to be there or thereabouts" said O'Neill.

"Having Pete (Madsen) back a week early was massive and his 21 point contribution including the winning free throw was immense, Jermaine's (Turner) massive 45 that included 16 in the first quarter was fantastic and Mike's (Westbrooks) three pointer to bring the game to overtime brought the crowd to its feet"

"We have UCD Marian on Tuesday at home but they have a new American Owen O'Malley and it won't be easy but we have to go in and win" said O'Neill.
