Neptune V's Moycullen
In Neptune stadium on Saturday night Neptune were at home to a fired up Moycullen who inflicted a tough loss on Neptune in their previous encounter at Moycullen.
Despite losing American Luke Enos to injury Moycullen were quick out of the blocks and with wonderfull shooting they led by as many as 15 early on led by Cian Nihill and Paul O Brien who was brilliant on the night.
Ron Thompson finally got to hit some shots for Neptune and tough they trailed 26 - 19 at the end of the first Neptune were beginning to improve. Stephen Sheehan had a big second qrt for the home side and with Phil Taylor and Ger Noonan coming into the game Neptune led at the half 39 - 31 Holding Moycullen to a mere 5 points in the second qrt.
Moycullen uped their performance in the 3rd and were good value for an upset as the qrt finished with Nihill leading the charge. Phil Taylor and Roy Downey really wel for Neptune at this stage of the game and the qrt finished with Neptune leading 51 - 46.
The 4th qrt was a tough affair in a low scoring game, Neptune eventually prevailed with Phil Taylor scoring 4 big free throws which saw Neptune hold their top spot in the southern conference.
